We are currently aiming for Summer 2021, once indoor Covid-19 restrictions have been fully lifted.
Will you be doing a full menu?
Yes, a full menu will be available 7 days a week and will have gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options.
When will you start taking bookings?
This will occur closer to our opening, please bookmark this website and check back to see if our bookings page has gone live, we will also be making announcements on social media.
Will i need to bring any ID?
We operate a strict CHALLENGE 25 policy around the sale of alcohol, if you look 25 or under you will be asked to prove you are 18 or over, no valid ID then no alcoholic drink! We ONLY accept passports, driving licences or hologram PASS cards as valid forms of ID and your photograph & date of birth must be clearly visible.
I hear you have a pool table and dart board is that correct?
Yes we have both and they can be found in the Hikers Bar area, our darts board is free to use but you must bring your own darts, please ask at the bar for the dartboard mat before play. Please note if people are dining in this area it may effect your ability to play pool given the space needed to use a cue so ask anyone seated nearby first.
Is the pub wheelchair accessible?
Yes, if you park on our rear carpark you will find we have 3 fully compliant disabled parking bays. From the rear entrance of the pub everything is on one level with no steps. We also have a fully compliant disabled washroom.
Do you have a baby changing facility?
Yes we do, this can be found in the disabled washroom facility located near the rear entrance.
What form of payment do you accept?
We accept most cards including Visa or Mastercard Debit/Credit via chip and pin, swipe or contactless (inc apple & google pay). We accept cash (except £50 notes), we do NOT accept cheques
Do you cater for weddings, funerals and other larger groups?
At the present time we do not cater for weddings, funerals or buffet style events. For larger groups (12+) we advise contacting us well in advance of your intended visit to discuss your requirements to see if it is possible.
Are you dog friendly inside?
We are in the Hikers Bar and Hikers Snug areas only, these are accessible via the rear entrance. Guide dogs are naturally allowed throughout.
Do you cater for people with allergies?
This will largely depend on how severe your allergy is and how simple it would be to amend a dish to suite your needs. We would strongly advise contacting us via the "contact" button at the top of the page and notifying us of your requirements in writing well in advance of your intended visit, we will then get back to you in due course after discussing your requirements with our chefs. However, if you have a severe allergy, nuts for example, then we would strongly advise against dining with us as we wouldn't be able to 100% guarantee against traces of nuts being found despite our best and thorough efforts.
Can i park on your carpark for the purposes of going for a walk?
Yes, our front carpark (opposite the pub) can be used by non customers to temporarily park and go for a walk if they wish. Indeed many customers use the pub as a starting and finishing point to their walk/hike around The Roaches. It is a 20 minute walk from our front car park to the foot of the Roaches.
Do you allow motorhome stop overs?
Yes (on our front carpark opposite the pub) but for one night only. We don't charge for the stop over but we do ask that people visit the pub, ideally buying a drink or some food, ideally book a table and mention you are stopping over, either on the phone or in the comment section in your online booking.
Do you have free WIFI?
Free wifi is available to all customers
Do you support any charities?
Yes, for at least the last 20 years Ye Olde Rock Inn has proudly collected funds for Buxton Mountain Rescue. If you venture up on the Roaches as well as other "peaks" in the Peak District and have an accident they will often show up well before an ambulance to provide life saving first aid.
